Balancing a thriving career, family life, and personal well-being is no small feat, but Anine Bing makes it look effortless. In this interview, she shares her reflections on life in California, her approach to self-care, and the little rituals that bring joy and balance to her busy days. From beauty tips to insights on aging gracefully, here’s a glimpse into her world.
Moving to California over 20 years ago was one of the best decisions of my life. When I first arrived in Los Angeles, I felt an incredible sense of freedom and creativity. It’s a place where you can truly be yourself and chase your dreams. Now, with my family and business thriving, we’ve settled in Santa Barbara. It’s quieter, more serene, and absolutely beautiful. I’m incredibly grateful to call this state home.
As a little girl, I was always goal-oriented with big dreams. I wanted to leave home early to explore the world. At different points, I dreamed of becoming a model, a singer, or a designer—and as I reflect now, I've had the privilege of stepping into all of those roles in some way. Today, at 40, I’m proud to have built a business that combines all those passions, and it’s something that would make my younger self proud.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my career now is mentoring other women. Throughout my journey, I’ve been fortunate to learn from some incredible women who inspired me to reach for my dreams. Now, it’s my turn to pay it forward. Helping others build their own dreams—whether in business, family, or personal growth—is something I’m deeply passionate about. Seeing other women succeed is one of the greatest joys I experience.
Empowering others starts with empowering yourself, and that’s something I’ve learned over time. Self-care is key to staying balanced and grounded in this busy life. Good skin has always been a confidence booster for me. Living in sunny California, I prefer wearing minimal makeup and embracing a natural, radiant look. Incorporating The Solution™ into my daily routine has been a game-changer—not just for how my skin looks but also for how I feel. It’s amazing to hear others notice the improvements, from smoother texture to a more youthful glow. I feel like it’s my little secret—but one I’m always happy to share!
Less is more—that’s a philosophy I live by, whether it’s in my style, beauty routine, or health. Growing up in Scandinavia, I learned to appreciate simplicity and quality. I stick to timeless wardrobe staples and a streamlined skincare routine that works for me. This minimalist approach is also why I love The Solution™. It’s easy to incorporate into my day, and the results speak for themselves. Staying consistent with the basics makes all the difference.
The key to everything is having a simple recipe. When it comes to my closet, I have 10-15 favorite pieces that are easy to mix and match. I apply the same principle to my beauty routine—keeping it simple, effective, and focused on products that truly work.
A meal you could eat every day?
Pasta—hands down! I love it so much I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It’s my ultimate go-to meal. Just butter, a little parmesan, and salt—simple and perfect.
How do you like to spend a Saturday?
Sleeping in feels like such a luxury—until around 7:30 or 8 a.m. I love starting the day slowly with my family, sipping coffee, and just enjoying a quiet morning. In the evening, it’s either a night out with girlfriends or a date night with my husband.
What makes a vacation special for you?
For me, a vacation is all about unwinding completely. A beach getaway with my family—soaking up the sun, swimming in the ocean, and doing absolutely nothing—is my idea of paradise.
Your favorite way to spend time with friends?
I’m not a fan of big parties, but I adore intimate girls’ nights. Whether we’re dining out, having drinks, or just relaxing at someone’s house, it’s the long conversations and quality time that matter most.
What skincare advice would you give your younger self?
If I could go back, I’d tell my younger self to eat less sugar! It’s so bad for the skin. I’ve always had a sweet tooth, especially for Scandinavian candy, but now I realize how important it is to nourish your body with the right things. Starting good habits early makes all the difference.
